  • Habitat: They build their nests outside the walls of homes or in various clumps of vegetation, they may also construct their homes beneath the edges of pavements or patios. They also lurk in dark areas of homes such as lofts and basements.
  • Why control them? Rats can cause structural damage to homes, offices, and virtually any type of building through gnawing, nest-building, and defecation as well as contaminating food for humans and domestic animals.
  • How to control them? Once you know the location of the rats you can set traps and place bait. Another thing to be wary of is the entry points to your home or business, you want to make sure there isn’t any obvious holes or gaps that the rats can squeeze through (anything bigger than 12mm!).
