> WIPE
Wipe down surfaces to remove odours and any food crumbs.
> RINSE
Rinse any food containers and sauce jars before putting them in the recycling bin – the less residue the better.
> TRANSFER
Transfer any dry food to sealed containers. Insects and rodents can make light work of chewing through plastic, paper and cardboard packaging.
> SWEEP
Sweep regularly to remove any food particles, even the tiniest of crumbs can attract pests.
> USE
Use bins with lids and take out any rubbish as soon as it’s needed. Allowing rubbish to sit in the kitchen is like an open dinner invitation for pests.
> CHECK
Check for entryways in hidden places such as by the pipes under the sink or behind appliances. If you find any, fill them!
